We seek to discover, understand, and ultimately control extraordinary thermal, magnetic, and electric transport phenomena. In particular, we are interested in understanding how phonons, spins, and electrons interact with one another in complex heterogeneous materials and systems. At the heart of our research is a state-of-the-art ultrafast pump/probe system capable of characterizing the transport of heat, spin, and charge across femtosecond to millisecond time-scales. A significant part of our research efforts are devoted to developing new experimental methods that enable the discovery of new transport phenomena.
